"Bell"
(Beagle/Basset
Hound)
ADOPTED

Bell
Contact:
dogs@4leggedlove.com
Name: "Bell"
Breed: Beagle/Basset Hound
Gender: Spayed Female
Colour: Tan and Black
Size: Medium - 30lbs
Age: 1 year
Personality:
Bell is very friendly and likes to explore but she can be nervous in new
situations.
History:
Belinda ("Bell")
is a 1 year
old, spayed female, Beagle/Basset Hound. She is vaccinated, including
Rabies, Heartworm tested (-), de-wormed, tx Flea Preventative and approx
30lbs.
Bell is one of 6 dogs that were placed up for adoption when their owner was
evicted. Hr house mate
Britta, is also looking for a home (they do not need to go together)
Bell is a sweet but timid girl; with all the dogs living in her home her
previous owner had no time to properly socialize her with the world. She is
very friendly and likes to explore (what hound dog doesn't?!) but she can be
nervous in new situations. She is great with other dogs, cats and is best
suited to a home with older, calmer, quieter children. She walks very nicely
on a leash and is also working on her 'heel' command; she loves to go for
walks. Her foster mom has noted that she is comfortable in her crate and
sleeps in her crate when alone and at night, in the morning she will give a
soft howl to let you know it's time to go out for a potty break. Her foster
family is doing a great job with her socializing and making sure to expose
her to as much as possible (without over whelming her) and she is coming
along nicely but is still unsure of new things like bicycles, baby carriages
and general noise that will be passing her on the streets. When scared or
spooked her reaction is to freeze and sit down and watch what is going on.
As her foster family takes her out and about in the world she is still
nervous but getting used to the sights and sounds, she is best suited to a
quieter setting rather then living right downtown on busy streets. We feel
that with a patient owner/family that will give her time and patience while
settling in she will be a remarkable dog.
(Two of her house mates have been adopted and are doing wonderfully with
their new families, we feel Bell with be the same.)
Being a Hound Bell can never be off leash unless in a securely fenced area.
Bell needs a house with a securely fenced yard. If you can provide Bell with
a mature, relaxed house hold with time and patience please submit your
adoption application. Bell is not suitable for apartment living and must go
to a home with a fenced yard.
