Name: "Gretschen" Gretschen is a beautiful Shepherd who arrived from Louisiana after her third and final return to a high-kill shelter. Thank God we scooped her - literally at the last moment! One look at that little trusting, happy face of hers - we knew she needed a guardian angel, nay, several guardian angels!!! Rescue colleagues from the US and Canada have worked hard to arrange boarding and transport to Toronto. “Gretsch” is a small-size Shepherd (70 lbs), approx. 2+ years old - she could stand to put on some muscle tone and weight. She has been vetted and is in good health, with a great temperament— she’s always happy to be close to her human and other animal companions. And judging from above photo, she’s got a great sense of humour! Gretsch is with C4P for her intake and assessment, where she will get fundamental obedience training, in preparation for a smooth transition with her new family. This is one sweet girlie whose former owners let her run the roads (that’s how she ended up in the shelter 3 times) and finally, who moved and left no forwarding address. Gretsch would be happy in any loving, stable home – other animals are ok, and she loves traveling in the car! All she wants is someone decent to belong to, and a home and familiy to call her own. 416.535.8988 UPDATE Nov. 12 : Gretschen is doing absolutely fabulously ... she's with us here (C4P) and is getting along beautifully with Stormy and our cat Mishe. She's very sweet - we've had a couple of expressions of interest about her, but nothing permanent yet. Please take a moment to look at her profile and think about /forward to any family you might know that would suit her.
